Mission Statement

"Working closely with you to understand your training needs, assisting your staff to work effectively and efficiently with understanding, and giving them the appropriate skills to meet those needs."

Handle With Care Training Ltd was started in 1994 by Philip and Janet Norcliffe, as a small firm absolutely committed to the delivery of the highest quality Health Care Training and Education. Philip was then a Senior Lecturer in Nursing Studies at the University of Sheffield, with special responsibility for Moving and Handling training. He has since retired from the university and now works full-time for Handle With Care Training Ltd.

Our business is customer focused, responsive to the employer’s needs, carers’ needs and the users of the service, from front of house, accommodating customer needs and delivering tailored courses in a timely manner to a professional standard. We deliver training in a learner-friendly way to service users, their families, volunteers, home care staff, carers and nurses. Courses range from one hour up to five-day courses, in people’s own homes, our own training rooms and employers’ own premises, from a one to one in a service users home up to groups of 12.

Teaching is learner-centred, accommodating individual learning styles as far as possible, with feedback from learners and employees on the efficancy of the learning. Each member of staff is an ambassador for Handle With Care, and customer satisfaction is paramount. We meet formally on a six monthly schedule with our customers but keep in touch on a daily basis via the telephone, email, social media and our website, hwc.co.uk.  Concerns are responded to as a priority, feedback to all concerned is important to us. We pride ourselves on our contribution to the welfare of the service users, carers, families and the community.

Every effort is made to accommodate customer wishes with current training delivered in a professional manner supported by an administration process which is as professional as the course content and teaching. Teaching styles vary between trainers and due to the context of the environment, but the focus is on accessibility, in order to enable the trainee to master the course content. Delivery techniques vary but by use of ongoing evaluation by learners, service users and employers we ensure appropriateness of delivery to the needs of the service user.

Our Raison Detre is to ensure that people who cannot meet their own physical, social or heath care needs receive high quality care through our training.

We have established a high level of return business throughout the British Isles with a range of customers from the biggest care home group to the smallest single care providers. All are assured of a personalised service with Handle with Care Training Limited.
