Safeguarding and Promoting the Welfare of Children

Content:

 

  • Understand the role, responsibilities and boundaries of the worker with regard to safeguarding children from danger, harm or abuse

  • Understand the role, responsibilities and boundaries of the worker with regard to recognising potential and actual danger, harm and abuse

  • Understand the role, responsibilities and boundaries of others with regard to safeguarding children from danger, harm or abuse

  • Understand the Vetting and Barring Scheme (VBS) safeguards

  • Understand the system of ‘regulated activity’ as it applies to their work

  • Understand the factors which can affect the individual, carer or social care worker that may lead to harm or abuse

  • Understand the effects of abuse on individuals

  • Understand that regardless of perceptions, an objective and professional response is required in situations of potential and actual danger, harm and abuse

  • Understand the legislation, regulations and guidance that govern the safeguarding of children from danger, harm or abuse

  • Understand the organisations policies and procedures with regard to the safeguarding of children

 

Who is the course aimed at?

 

This course is aimed at all care staff both as initial learning and a refresher.
